Tyler, the Creator shows us some interesting 'CHROMAKOPIA' Footage in New Short Film

Tyler, the Creator has made it clear—CHROMAKOPIA is far from finished. The album's impact on the culture is undeniable, and with Camp Flog Gnaw’s tenth anniversary right around the corner and a massive world tour set for next year, he's giving fans a closer look at its journey.

Taking to Instagram, Tyler surprised everyone by dropping a fresh, unfiltered look at CHROMAKOPIA’s creative process. The six-minute short film, aptly titled MASK IS OFF: CHROMAKOPIA, delivers raw, behind-the-scenes footage never seen before, letting us in on the artistic layers of the acclaimed album.

The clip dives deep into Tyler’s recording process for CHROMAKOPIA, capturing raw moments from tracks like “I Killed You” and “I Hope You Find Your Way Home,” along with snippets of the chorus from “Thought I Was Dead” and the intimate vocals of “St. Chroma.”

We also see Tyler meticulously refining the album’s instrumentals, experimenting with keys, horns, percussion, and even layering in his own vocal textures for added depth. While much of the footage shows him locked in behind his laptop, splicing and mixing, he’s also up and moving around the studio, fully immersed in the creative energy.

The film features cameos from Sexyy Red, laying down her verse on “Sticky,” and Lola Young, who adds her voice to “Like Him.”
